Finally realized what im putting in for subs. Its a hifonics 10 inch 1000w 4ohm sub with a RMS of 500. Following that Ive chosen a Hifonics 1200w amp that puts out 450 at 4ohm 900 at 2ohm and 1200 at 1ohm. Is the amp perfect for the sub?
is this what you have?? http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_20616_Hifonics_B10D2.aspx If so, and if you have the dual 4 ohm version, you can wire it to 2 ohms and it would get roughly 900 watts, which is 400 over the rms. So its not a perfact match. But, you can still do it, just dont crank your gains.
well i plan on ordering that probably tomo becuase ive been told all i need is a ten inch for my truck. Thats the sub but im clueless on what i need for an amp. If u could help me out if would be very much appreciated. An based on if its the dual 4 ohm or the 2 ohm im not sure, what would be a better choice?
well, dont worry too much about what everyone is saying what you need. it comes down to what you want. are you looking just to add some low-end in your music or are you looking for some mirror shaking bass for your truck? your budget is also a big factor.
