what are your plans for sealing the box front to back? or is this a fun box and every lil DB dont matter?

how do you mean? I have all the joints and crevasses sealed with liquid nails? Is there something else i should do, thats all ive ever used if so ha?

he means sealing the front face of the wall from the rest of the rear of the truck. it will gain you some db's!

ahh didnt know that, i suppose i could figure something out, i got the gaps on the top and bottom in the middle, and a few inches where the windows are

I got a question, Im gonna get the alpine type-r 15s, 750w rms, but alpines biggest amp is 2000w rms @ 2 ohm, now i know they wouldnt be as loud as they could be only giving them 500w each, but... should i do that, OR get 2 of the alpine amps run then at 2000w at 2ohm and turn the amp down , OR... would it be better to run 2 of them at 4 ohms at 1500 w which would be perfect (on paper)

with running 2 amps though, they are 180 amps each, and i read that 1/0 wire is rated at ~350 amps? and i think you can only get fuses at 300amps, so i would have to run 2 seperate wires for each amp?

Sooo only running 1 amp would be the easiest thing to do, perhaps ill just get the one amp and if it doesnt seem as loud as it should then ill contemplate getting a second? Im not gonng be taking this thing to competitions or anything, but i dont wanna not get my moneys worth of the speakers.\

Anyone know if the alpine amps are usually rated too high or too low to what they actually put out in some situations?

what coil configuration are the subs going to be? you need to figure that out before you get your amp or amps.

4 D4 subs will yield a 2 ohm load. or if you want 2 amps to run at 2 ohms each you will need 4 D2 ohm subs. each pair will show an amps 2 ohms apiece.

All of the alpine amps that I have had do over their rated power, but not a whole lot(m450 rated 400wrms did 437 and m1000 rated 1000 did 1067).Birthsheets rule.

ah yeah good point id needs 2ohm speakers if i did 2 amps, didnt think of that.

eh, well i think ill stick with the original plan of the 4 subs going to one amp, and if i think the amps not powerfull enough ill just look into getting a better one even though i wanna stick with one brand, and sell the alpine one.

and thanks for the info tommy, i was hoping that a good company like alpine wouldnt overrate their products.

actually 500 each aint so bad. it will still get loud and move some air.

2k is a lot of power.

Run an Audiopipe 3K! They are a ton cheaper i think and do a rated 3000 at 2 Ohms! At $290 to $320 you can't complain.

all the specs im seeing, even on the picture of their catalog says 3000 @ 1ohm and 2000 @ 2 ohm BUT also theres a picture on their catalog that shows a wiring setup, it shows one sub bridged at 2 ohms and says that its would be getting 3000 watts?

    im lost

ya thats all a screw up. It does 3000 at 2Ohms. If you put it into 1Ohm mono it will go straight to protect. Its 2 1500Ds internally strapped so it is only 2Ohm stable. Badazz amp!

it is only 2 ohm MONO stable.had to clear that up. i know a few guys with these and they do make some power.

i almost got the 1500d but, i wasnt sure about the bass knob on it, wether it would defeat the bass all the way down or not.

so i bought the elemental nine.9. im very familiar with the brand.
