I decided to take one of my 15" s out of my car! The weird thing is that its no softer than before. It dosent move as much air but its just as loud. So essentially the 2nd 15" is just in there to move more air!? I can see that for a SPL setup, but what are the advantages of having two subs in a SQ setup?

the only advantages to having 2 subs are
    1) the theoretical 3DB displacement gain as well as an additional gain due to acoustical coupling.
2)stereo bass.... this isnt much of a concern, especially car audio
    3)maks illinearities of the subs

all in all, for SQ its not a real big deal.

also the ability to turn down the gains and still maintain the same output as 1 woofer, aiding in SQ.

not sure if it was mentioned as i scanned over it real fast....

but with two subs.....there is less excursion needed to reach the same output level of one....which also reduces distortion...
