k i have 2 kicker 02 L5 12" 4 ohm dual vc. i was thinkin about getting http://onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_20599_Hifonics_BXI_1610D.aspx that amp... but i went to a shop today and he said he thought it would be to much power... i was jw if the amp is one ohm stable like it says it is so i can wire it to one ohm... idk any suggestions if this would be a really good setup or if i should get a stronger or weaker amp...
i believe those L5s are rated at 500 rms..correct?? if so, the hifonics will be giving about 1600 rms to the pair. either you can get the hifonics 1600 and take it easy on the gains, or just get the 1200. yes this amp is 1ohm stable
they are 600 rms each... but i heard the old kicker l5s can handle more power than what theyre rated at.... at least thats what ive been told by a few people... and do u know or have an idea if this will hit hard in a ported box tuned at 34 hz and so i can wire it at one ohm and it will be no problem?
im sure they can handle more. people on other forums really brag up the solo's being able to take big power. its not power that kills subs, its people! (that crank the gains and bass boost) so make sure ure signal is clean and build em a nice bigISH box. you still wanna be able to control the cone movement and stuff so they dont bottom out.
