So I have been looking for a car stereo for a long time now....

I basically want a stereo that would allow me to chuck in an 8GB flash drive and be able to navigate it. The folder count on the flash drive has to be around 500 folders because I want to customize it the way I want it and I have a lot of music. Also I want preset buttons on it because I always switch back and forth between 760 am and 600 am.

Pioneer- I can't find any stereos that have the preset buttons. Pioneer does allow you to have around 500 folders on USB drives though. Fail

Kenwood - The search function is way too slow. I am very spastic when it comes to electronics. Allows a lot of folders but not around 500... "Fail"

Sony - Has preset buttons. Folder count only 120ish "Fail"

Alpine - Has the preset buttons! :) Too much money for anything reasonable.... "Fail"

JVC - I can't find info on the folder count... No preset buttons except on the super cheap model!

Ok...Something seems wrong. Don't you think that there should be this stereo.... Am I missing something. Well changing the presets with the remote is something, but I see that as a safety hazard. Always reaching around trying to find the remote...ack. Any advice? I really want a stereo that meets my expectations.

alpine is the way to go man, you get what you pay for...i think its worth it and you wont regret it.

but to solve your folder prob...you can always split it into 2 diff usbs, wont really be that bad

haha Takes a genius to figure that out. That is true... Meh I will take that into consideration when making my decision. Thanks. I also don't like alpine because they don't have any organic displays at a reasonable price. I like the pretty visualizations. :p

Eclipse right.... Wonder why I never see them in stores? Anyways. What is the folder count? Talking about the USB folder count. Also is there visualizations and screen saver on it. I think they are pretty to look at. ;)
Crap little over what I was going for to. My price range is around $200 for the head unit.

Let me see, 8GB flash drive, 500 folders. That comes to 2 to 3 songs per folder. May I ask why in the world you would only want 2 to 3 songs in 500 different folders. It makes no sense to me. That would be a nightmare to navigate.
