Ok I am replacing the stock HU in my 2004 Neon. I have found four head-units that I like and would like some advice on which is the better buy. So I would like any advice reguarding the ipod control system of each.
don't use crutchfield. Prices suck! Go to sonicelectronix.com and basically when it comes to decks you want to stick with the main brands... Pioneer, alpine, and some kenwoods. I don't really like kenwiods but that's just me.
sonic electronix and ocs might have better prices, but crutchfield also sends you everything you need to install the HU and directions. i think you should look into some alpine decks
ya i love my old Alpine. i think my edition was from like 2006 and its nicer than anyone elses in my town that has systems. They really got their iPod stuff on tee, well along with Pioneer also. I understand crutchfields prices are higher but I like how they send you everything you need to install the unit.
other than ipod controls are you looking to upgrade the system in the future? i ask because most of your choices have 2 pre amp outs, except for the sony. it has 6. i would look for a unit with 6 preamp outs and a decent eq and xover. unless you have outboard units you want to use.
I think I have finally found the right HU for me. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17370_JVC+KD-HDR50.html It has a good Ipod control system, sub outputs for later and I really like the color changing feature.
