I recently bought a new amp for my subs because I thought the old one was not working(Eclipse-has no power on indicator light, thought it was blown because it was working fine and then quit). So I went to hook up the new amp and there's no sound when I hook up my subs...the amp has power indicator lights and is powered on so its not my power, remote, or ground wire, so I'm thinking my speakers might be blown...hooked them up to my component speaker wires and they work just fine...took the amp back to the store; they hook it up to some subs, works fine. So that only leaves one thing...I buy new RCA wires but still the same problem...HELP!!! My CD/DVD receiver is a JVC KD-AVX44

First thing you gotta do is check the wiring of the subs. make sure all the connections are done properly.

What kind of subs are they? how do you have them wired?

another thing you can do is move to another set of preouts on the deck to see if you will get sound then. if you do then that would mean that you have problems with your sub preout. You can also try another set of RCA's. if all that doesn't work then it may be your subs.

You may also want to take them out of the box and inspect them. try to see if anything is burnt, smells funny or if the cone is really stiff and/or doesn't even give when you try to push on it.

I hooked the subs up to my rear component speaker wires to make sure they weren't blown and they worked just fine...tried two sets of brand new rca cables and that didnt work. I know u also have a JVC KD model receiver; on mine I have rear and front out and also a subwoofer out and center out...tried both front and rear out but still doesnt work. Like I said everything was working just fine a few weeks ago and then nothing. Has to be the rca jacks because speakers work and all the power, remote and ground wires are fine...amp is brand new and it worked when I took it up to the store and had them hook it up to their system. Receiver works fine with my other speakers and tweeters just no subs.
