Hey everyone. I was looking to upgrade my stock head unit so I got a Pioneer DEH-11E stereo for my 1998 Subaru Outback. I connected the wires from the deck to the corresponding wires from the wiring harness that I bought, but when I connect the wiring harness to the harness that is in my car, I can't get the thing to turn on. I called customer support from the place I bought the deck, and they suggested that it was possibly a fuse that had blown, but I connected the old stereo and that one still works fine. I checked all of my wire connections (I crimped them together) and they appear to be secure. Any suggestions?
what kind of harness did you buy? can you supply a link? If you have any kind of pics that would be good too.
I purchased this wiring harness : http://www.crutchfield.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/p_120708901/Receiver-Wire-Harness.html?tab=review If it helps when I called customer support, I was told that the only wires that needed to be connected to each other to power on were the black (ground), yellow (contant) and red (switched).
This is the harness that I bought: http://www.crutchfield.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/p_120708901/Receiver-Wire-Harness.html?tab=review When I called customer support I was told that only the black, yellow, and red wires needed to be connected to get the stereo to power on. Hope this helps.
