i am thinking that i will put in 2 of these into a custom ported box i plan building.

i have all sony xplod speakers and head unit right now, i think it would be nice for the system to match.

    whats everyone think?

and what amp do you suggest for 2 of these?
    thanks , patrick

I had a sony xplode before. Gotta be honest though, it's not a very good sub...

What kind of amp/s are you planning on getting and what is your budget for the subs and amp/s?

yeah i know there not the greatest brand..

im hoping around 500 for an amp and 2 subs. less if possible.

i have a sweet design for a box im going to build but i need to figure out what subs im getting first so i can make it all the right size..

i have all sony explod speakers and head unit ( they were a gift) so i was thinkin about making it all match but it doesnt really matter to me, i think quality is more important. so i can re use them in my next car too.

what do you suggest in that price range?

I agree with CC, A coworker recently purchased a pair of Infinity Reference 12 inch subs from Crutchfield for 49 dollars each. They sounded so good and suprised the hell out of me I went and bought a pair for myself. For 100 dollars they are leaps and bounds above the Sonys. He also bought a Audison LRX 1.400 for 349. from woofersetc to run the Infinitys. Its super clean. I have my Infinitys in a small sealed Qlogic box at .88 per side with about 2 lbs of stuffing nad I have mine paired with my Hifonics Titan amp at 2 ohms with 1000 watts. Of course there are hundreds of amp woofer combos in your price range but this combo sounds very clean, the subs are very efficient at 93 db hanlde decent power and they have nice deep bass extension. Of course what can you say about the Audison amp, they are works of art and would probablt last you for the rest of your life. Crutchfield also has that woofer in a 10 inch for the same price as well as a kicker comp 10 inch also for 49 dollars.
