Finally a comp in my neck of the woods. A lot of my buddies are egging me on to join. I really don't know what to expect from this comp. I just know that if i join i'll be competing with other guys with either 2 12" or 1 15". The TL will be on the windshield but facing the roof (UP) instead of directed to the rear of the vehicle. I think this is a IASCA comp, not really sure though. IDBL is just a burp giving a 30 sec. run - Pedro, got any tips for me on this? ESPL - playing music with doors opened and doors closed.. Here's the catch, we can't play anything we want. We'll be given an the 2009-2010 IASCA CD and we have to draw numbers for what track we'll play. IMO that kinda sucks.. I don't know which one to join, I only want to join one of the two cuz it's like $50 registration each. I don't want to blow $100 to join both of them. I need tips and suggestions here guys. I got a month to prepare for this. The only reason why i decided to join is because they are not judging on the look of the system or the wiring... My kind of comp. lol
yeah, i know. I think i'll be at an advantage though with 2 12's. most people around here use 2 15's so the competition is pretty stiff. 2 12's on the other hand, i don't think there will be a whole lot of of people joining. I HOPE!
They say turn your air condition on rite before you run. Ive heard that adds like .1 to .2 dbs. Id say join the espl because you can do it w and w out the doors open. The only thing that sux is that they pretty much pick your song that you play.
sucks that you cant pick your songs. but i hear that you arent supposed to run your car much before your run and you shouldnt play much music because once your alternator runs for a while, you dont get as much volts out of it as when its cold and something about your subs being hot, dont really remember lol
I heard about turning EVERYTHING on in your car just as you about to do your run. I also heard about closing the A/C vents. So do you think i should go with the ESPL? I just have to find out if they are gonna judge tonality (is that a word?) if they do, i'm staying away cuz i'll be up against the SQ champ for that my class who is also a good friend of mine. I know i got him with my bass but he'll wipe the floor with me his sound especially cuz his installer is the organizer. lol
we never get judged here for looks, just bass. burp if you just want to know how loud it'll go, but the "espl" with doors open and closed will give you a good idea of your average spl. the mic always meters from the windshield in the bottom right hand corner.
ok, i guess i'm going with the ESPL then. I wonder why they told us lastnight that the mic is on the windshield but facing the ceiling. must be different rules here i guess. I wonder how that will affect my score?
iv heard that if you slam the door when the bass hits you will get a couple more decibels depends on the comp rules tho
