Hi folks, sorry if this is a really noobish question but I've spent the best part of a day trying to figure it out and haven't managed it yet.

I've just bought a DAB radio for my ford focus (98-04 model) and had no trouble taking out and disconnecting the old head unit, however, my new one is about half the size of the standard one and clearly doesn't fit the larger hole.

I've seen fascia adaptors online, but they seem to just plug the extra hole left by installing a smaller head unit, my problem is that the cage has absolutely nothing to fix to inside the dash, it just falls down if I put it at the top, or wobbles about if I put it at the bottom.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

If you get the dash kit than it holds it in place, you can most likely get one at your local wal-mart if you have one, and if not than you can go to your local car audio shop and they should probably have one for you

That's the problem though, I've hunted the web for a dash kit that holds it in place and have only been able to find ISO size ones and just fascia adaptors. Nothing that actually secures it in the hole.

I'll pop down to Halfords tomorrow though and ask them what they have in stock that will sort me out. Ta.

Use the Metra kit. Follow the directions and make sure you use the supplied back brace (oh wait, thats in the directions). If installed correctly, it will stay in place

You can buy that piece of plastic that you need from you local ford-dealer, and I don`t see any problems with that. It`s best if you place that radio at the bottom of the hole, so that the little plastic facia is at the top. There should be no problems with the stability....
