So I just got a stereo put into my Ford F-350 yesterday. I'm new at this and CarAudioTalk looked like the place to get some help, lots of guys throwin around some good information in here. I have Alpine iDA-X305 Head Focal Access 165 A1 Speakers Alpine PDX-5 4 channel Amp Rockford Fosgate P3L-S12 Woofer I know it's a shallow woofer but that's all i can fit in my truck without cutting into the frame, which is $$$!! So I'm trying to get a little more out of the subwoofer but don't know how the subs power handling: 100-400 watts RMS (800 watts peak power) What should I do?
Yea, this particular woofer comes in a pre-fabricated box that's made for trucks with a minimal amount of space http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Photos/Default.aspx?i=575P3LS12&tp=112 slide that into your search bar and check it out
i heard that sub at best buy and was not impressed with it at all. now i know it was on the floor but we took it to the back of a customers trunk and it still sucked. now in a better box im sure it will sound much better, or maybe better tweaking with the xover settings/eq'ing.
I've been adjusting the crossover and gain a little, Sound much better. The guys who installed everything didn't really tune the amp, at least i can figure that stuff out. woofers getting broken in a little more too, it sounds kinda nice But yea if i can find a spot to put a bigger box in that would be sweet, any idea's for a truck such as mine? I't an F-350 crew cab. (I'll get some pictures up later if that helps)
