Hi. I have a kenwood mp243 head unit. Front speakers- 2 us audio 4 inch 2 way speakers 120w max Rear speakers - Phillips 4 ohm 6 inch speakers. I installed them myself using solder iron. Then wrapping the wires in tape to stop short circuiting. I have now tried the audio and I find the rear speakers are slightly out of sync with the front ones. Any ideas on how to fix that? I read something about cross over, but I have no idea how to do it or what it does. Thankyou
I can hear the back ones over the front ones, and they sound slightly different then the back ones. I have a few more questions I may aswell post here. The rear left phillips speaker, the cardboard around the cone was damaged badly, it was off coloured, cracked, and broken. It did not play sound to well so I removed it. Was it blown? I ended up using a 6 ohm akai home theatre speaker in their, and it is loud with absolutley no distortion. I've been tweaking with the setup abit and now I can get it alot louder without distortion. Are their any disadvantages of using a 6 ohm speaker with 3 4 ohm speakers?
just use the fader to lower the vol in the rear. that 6Ω speaker will get just alil more power is all. no biggie. will work just fine. the speaker you took out was obviously dry rotted to hell. and yes it was broken from it.
thankyou very much. Which would be better to use. in my car. Keep in mind in the rear I have a phillips 4 ohm speaker that was made in 1986 and a 6 ohm speaker from a home theatre. Should I remove the other phillips and replace it with the other home theatre speaker? Or should I leave the phillips in?
well, if you want really good sound i would say invest in some good component speakers. component speakers are a midbass + tweeters (separate) and they also come with crossovers..
hi I ended up using the other 6 ohm speaker. My head unit only has 1 pre out, so would it be worth getting an amp for it?
