The sub I have is an old but in very good condition,

    Pioneer TS-W305C.

    Here are the specs:

    Specifications
    Features TS-W305C
    Maximum output power 800 Watt
    Nominal output power 400 Watt
    Frequency response 18 - 2.000 Hz
Lowest resonance frequency (Hz) 35 Hz
    Sensitivity (1W/1m) 89 dB
    Woofer size (cm) 30 cm
    Recommended sealed enclosure (Litres) 42.5

What sort of specs would I look for in a amplifier to fire this sub smooth and sweetly?

    I have an amplifier already,

    Lanzar Viberant VIBE248

    Specs are:

    Sound effects Bass Boost Amplifier signal-to-noise ratio 90 dB Amplifier max output power / channel qty 300 Watts x 2 Amplifier output 2-channel Crossover type Active crossover Amplifier Output Details 300 Watt - 4 Ohm - 2 channel(s) , 500 Watt - 2 Ohm - 2 channel(s)

Is this amp ok? Or too powerful?

I am pretty new to car audio but am very intersted and fast on picking things up. Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Wiks.

if your sub is a single 4 ohm coil then the amp you have will do fine.

I am not certain if it is a single coil, but I am assuming that it is. Is there a way that I can tell? What does that mean, single coil and dual coil?

Also would be ok to bridge this amp into this 1 sub?

i single coil sub would have only 1 set (positive and negative) terminals while a dual voice coil sub would have 2 sets.

I looked up your sub and it is a single voice coil sub

    Oh sweet as.

Would you be able to tell me the difference in performance between single and dual coil? I am looking at buying some new subs. I'm looking at a couple of 10" subs, which brand would be best? I just want my subs to boom loud enough that when I cruise down the street you can hear me before you see me. With the obvious aim, for as less as possible.
