Thanks bro. I have a question though, the polk components at 4ohm put out 200rms and the amp ^ there puts out 95rms at 4ohm. Is that amp going to be powerful enough?

shouldnt I get a mono amp for the sub?

not if you wire each channel into a 2 ohm load. you will get the same power output as the mono rating.

your speakers are rated for 200rms a pair and 100rms each side so it's only off by 5 watts

today while trying to install my system I realized that the polk audio components in the front didn't fit! so pretty much I bought the components plus the amp for no reason =( When I took the stock speakers out of the Altima I noticed they had like some plastic rim around them to fit the hole in the door. What should I do?

hey, what's up, got any pics of the door and speaker hole? Is the component too big for the hole in the door? or too small.
You play drums? Wanna buy a set of yamaha power v double bass lol

Okay so so I took the car to a local car audio shop yesterday so they could take a look and they told me that this was the problem: The speakers I have are the right size for the speaker hole that my 2004 Altima has, the problem is that the factory made Altima speakers have a plastic ring around them that increase the radius of the speaker and thus make the screw holes be too far for my Polk Audio speakers. I've read some posts on an Altima forum about people just managing to cut out this plastic ring around the stock speaker and somehow fitting their 5.25 speakers in their. Do you guys think this would be my best or what other options do I have?

How do I make sure my subs were wired at a 2ohm load?

see if you can take the plastic rings off of the original speakers and reuse them on your polks if this would make the screw holes line up again. Or just make your own from a new sheet of plastic and superglue them to your polks, i've heard good things about polks it will be worth it. Do you have any camera, pics would be a big help. Also maybe there's an adapter you can buy online, i'll check around.

well my polk audios are 5.25 and the nissan altima 2004 has 6.5s in the front so I would need one that converts from 5.25 to 6.5. I don't see one though...=/
