Hey All. I am new to this extreme bass scene cuz before i just has a 350watt rms amp powering a 450watt rms sub though i blew it up in the end it was old and abused way before me. So i bought a panasonic TS-w3001D4 sub it is duel voice coil 1000watt rms and is duel 4 ohms (2 ohms or 8 ohms) though i have no idea what this all means. I mean whats better to wire them up in series or parallel. All i know is that i'm in to serious Bass and Vibrations that are sooo loud lol and was just wondering if someone could possible point out what sort of amp id roughly need to power this too its true potential. Sorry if this is a dumb question though any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks.
alright, a dual voice coil means that there are two voice coils, simple and clean lol, the advantage of this is wiring multiple voice coiules together drops the relative resistans (the ohms) of the subwoofer's setup typically the lower the amount of resistance put on the amp the higher the output. with a single 4ohm DVC yes you can wire it to 2 ohms or 8ohms, what you are going to want is an amp that will push near 1000 watts \RMS/ thats the key, never look at an amps peake power output, it means nothing (yes it means something, just nothing relative) so look for an amp that will again push near 1000 watts rms on a 2 ohm load, (to save money you could probably pick up a dual channel amp that will bridge out to 2 ohm near the 1000 watts, usually cheaper then a dual mono block at that)
Hey Eleu, Thank you for your answer and puting it in dumb terms for me lol At least i have a better understanding of it now. I am going to get looking right now and thank you for the list as well. One quick question if i could be so cheeky i would want to wire the subs up in parallel right?? And yes adrian sorry i did mean pioneer not panasonic. See that says it all lol Thanks ppl
