hey guys i have an eminence bp102 jst lieing around and i want to make a car sub out of it. this is possible right? and also what would be the best box to put it in to get the loudest bass?? cheers
This sub isn't really a car sub. It is made for bass guitar cabinets. It is not really even a true subwoofer. But if you want to try it out than do 2.6 cubic feet net with a single four inch round port 7" long. Yeah its huge for a single 10 but it is a must or the low end will be horrible...atleast with this enclosure the low end should be decent. I wouldn't expect too much out of it but it should surprise you for a bass guitar speaker. Hopefully that speaker has enough mechanical clearance or you will be bottoming out like no other with 200 watts.
cool thank you.. so is that box going to give me loud bass which is gonna have a mad thud? thats gonna slap the backs of who ever is in the back seat?? i knwo its nto the best for thsi stuff but i dont wanna waist a 200 driver i baught.. as der expensive in aus compared to states. btw whats the program you use to check the box and stuff? i have winisd but it doesnt have this driver and when i put it t7s it screws up// cheers..
I use WinISD...you have to enter the parameters. This sub will not be that loud nor will it shake things...it will be quick and smooth though...I would cross over the subwoofer very low...around 60Hz. It is rated to go up to 2kHz so there might be some high end distortion coming through the sub if crossed higher as the inductance is low. Maybe start off at around 70Hz.
