Well, my components have arived and let me tell you....they are MUCH nicer than I expected....

They carried a very nice 95 dollar price tag, shipped to my door...and thanks to a recomendation by nosduj and my extreamly thin wallet...I said "screw it, what the hell...if they suck I can always sell them" and I ordered a pair :D

So...nosduj recomended that I break them in for a good amount of time as they really do not shine until they have been run on music for about three hours...in his case...so...seeing as how I don't currently have anywhere to mount them in the car (i'll either be making kicks or door pods....I haven't decided how much work I want to do yet...) I hooked them up to my home stereo with the midwoofer mounted in a sealed up shoe box (LOL)

Well...my enitial reaction was "God DAMN where is all that bass comming from?" These things just POUND out the midbass freq's soooo nice...it's amazing...they seemed a bit muddy when I first hooked them up, but i though, well, i'll let the play...so I just let them go on a few cd's at a fairly low volume and stopped paying attention....well about 3 or 4 cd's later I got bored so I changed CD's once more and sat and just listened....

The tweeter is very laid back and not peircing at all....maybe even a tad TOO laid back...but i've been listening to a set of horn tweeters latley so that is what i'm used to....the midrange and midbass is very clear and the midbass is WELL defined...i mean...these things sound like a pair of 10's...well not quite I supose...but..they are extreamly loud for what they are...I haven't been able to crank them due to the sad excuse for an enclosure they are in...talk about flexing  :D but judging from my results on low-medium volume these babies are simply going to S-C-R-E-A-M :)

Needless to say, for 95 dollars, these things can NOT be beat...hell, i've heard some lower end MBQ's...discus i believe and a pair of Infinity Kappa's and neither could even come CLOSE to touching these in sheer output...the kappa's did sound a hair better overall but the MBQ's were put to shame in every aspect...so...if you're one broke motherfucker, or Just want to save some money...but still want some nice sounding speakers...look in to these, you won't regret it :)

The shoebox is airtight and as stiff as I could get it...but yeah...they need to be reloacted =)

I'm just breaking them in right now...

Have you heard any Crystal sets? I would like to see how the Crystals stack up against them.

I had the ABC60002's I believe they were, same as yours, and they suckes ass. I ripped those out within a few days and the amp and put the stock 00 Celica speakers back in off the HU with way better results. Those audiobahn's had no mid bass whatsoever. I had to cross them over at 120hz in fear of blowing them.

So IMO, they are not even worth the $95 you paid. If I was offered a free set, I wouldn't even take them, not worth my time to install.

Glad they worked out for you though........I traded mine for a 12" MMATS sub :p

the ABC6002 and the ABC600Q are not the same

they did alot of changing on there full range and componets this year (the Q's are the 2002 series)

and $95 is a great price considering dealer cost is $85

After looking at Audiobahn's site, mine are identical to the ABC6002Q, which are better than the ABC600Q :dunno:

well you can not go on how it "looks" they may "look" the same as last year but not BE the same....

I dont know if they are or not but for me to compair yours to his, , (which yours is very differant) I need to know the model number

Firsty your said it was the ABC6002 which is a 2001 model
now it is ABC6002Q which is a 2002 model

    which is it?

and just because they cost more does not mean they are 'better" I know a few people that like the Poly Kevlar Componets over the Utopia from Focal, and focal says the Utopia is better......

    SQ is very perseptive....................

faint... what did you have for power, exactly how were they mounted?

Abra.. i have a pair of abc600x's .. last years model.. 40 bux for em. i got them from someone who got them from Geo.. they still have holes in the grills from his ghetto job of making them coaxes :p and they ar enow in a .4 cubic foot box off my pioneer home theater setup.. and they sound damn good.. bass matches my technic home thater cabinets.. which use ported 10s and the bahns are in .4 sealed... i am very impressed with them for the money.. and they dont cost mucg at retail anyways... good deal

I had mine mounted in the stock speaker locations in my 00 Celica with 100w rms to each side. I just didn't like them because they had no low end extention. I had to cross them over around 120hz and higher if I wanted to crank them up.

I am not trying to start any arguements here, just with my experience, Audiobahn does not live up to there rated specs, and you can find much better for the price if you purchase them from an authorized dealer.

If you guys are happy, then that is all that matters since we all have our own oppinions.

I had the Audiobahn ABC6002's which are the same as the ABC6002Q's. There were no changes that I am aware of.

Alright guys, the shoebox thing was just rediculous so I said "Fuck this" and took my ass downstairs and cut up some MDF...made some real nice MDF pods...

Damn, my first impressions were only the tip of the iceberg...with the tweeters correctly positioned and the mid sealed in a flex-free enviornment these things SCREAM...

Given aprox 150rms per channel from my old Technics class A amp...they show no signs of stress and they absolutly pound out the midbass...the tweeters are very nice, a tad harsh at times...such as a trumpet solo that damn near made my ears start to bleed and a couple gunshots that made me duck for cover ;)

VERY nice set for the money, I never expected to be running audiobahn in my car but I'm glad I gave them a chance...sealed kicks will be fabricated sometime soon and then I can finaly get a decent frontstage in my car :D

On a side note, with these things positioned correctly the image they pain is unbelievable, I hope to achieve the same results with my kickpods...only time will tell

    :)
