all are unknown brands to me. at least i've heard of some famous ones like you peoples have mentioned here in this forum, but the ones sold in the shop are totally strangers to me. i'll go to another audio shop to have a look later.
We get a lot of china stuff here and I got to tell you, it's not very good and they don't last long. I never even considered looking at them nor have I tried listening to them but trust me, the sound is dirty. We get amps here with brands like: V12 (not alpine) and a whole bunch of other stuff that i can no longer remember. I know you have as many choices as i have here in the Philippines so if you check out a good car audio place they should carry "known" brands and I think you should go with that, you may regret later on if you go with the china cheapo speakers. sorry, i don't have a hotmail account. only yahoo. if you have YM then my handle is cccullen111
cccullen, do you think i can shop all my things online within a budget of USD 400 and an additional USD 100 for shipping charges? my shopping list : 1. a pair of tweeters (placed on dashboard) 2. four speakers (6inches) 3. a decent amp (placed under front seats) 4. a enclosed woofer (10inches, placed in trunk) i'm looking forward for some decent branded stock. i really love my car and my sound system. maybe i'll change the headunit a bit later after i get all this basic stuffs.
1. I would go with a component set of speakers for the front, that would be midbass (6 1/2') and it comes with a set of tweeters. 2. if your budget doesn't allow it then just spend more for the front speakers and leave the rear stock for now. I'm sure you'll be able to find kicker there, i saw on ebay in your location. maybe you should check out ebay as well. I didn't buy anything from where i'm from. I bought it all from the U.S. and shipped it over here. I was at an advantage because my father goes there very often so I saved a lot. If you buy on sites that ship internationally you get killed on the shipping costs and don't forget about the customs duties etc. I'd say, look at the prices locally first and see what's available and what the prices are.
today i went to a audio shop..the person there gave me 2 choices 1st choice : -Sony Slim Series XS-LB12S 1500watt, woofer with box -Sony XS-GTX1620S 250watt, front component with a pair of tweeters -DynaQuest 4channel amplifier D754 (don't know how much watt) 2nd choice : -Blaupunkt GTB1200 750watt, sub-woofer with box -Blaupunkt TH series 662, front component with a pair of tweeters -DynaQuest 4channel amplifier D754 (don't know how much watt) I'm saving cost by moving the front original speakers to the back doors. As for the headunit, i'll change it a bit later. Both choices cost almost the same, around 420 USD. I'm not sure if the person was good at sound system, because he just gave me a list of these items without checking the requirements of the items. They need to check if the speakers or woofers suit the amplifier right? Or something else like this..and also, the DynaQuest brand amp, is it good? I'm not very good at this but i really do want to get a set of good stuff for my car.
i found out that DynaQuest are CHINA products. =/.. not recommended right ? http://www.dynaquest-audio.com/caraudio.htm
I've never heard of DynaQuest.. They don't carry any real familiar brands? I wouldn't use Sony, they aren't very good.
