power bass has a nice inexpensive product (subs) good inexpensive amps hmm for decent power for the money. i would say crunch,MA,power acoustik. there are more that i cant think of right away. btw i have seen most of these products do well at local car shows i go to. you can look up my posts in my profile and find my show pics.
One of my friends had 2 of these 12" in a 2.5cu ft ported box, it beat pretty damn good. They're kenwoods http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=5524
Look at ebay you might find higher end that fits your budget. Buddy of mine just picked up and arc mini amp for alittle over 100 bucks
I really like the PowerBass S series woofers for cheap and reliable. Two 12-inch woofers in a 3.25 to 3.5 cu ft ported box will Rock. Tuned to between 38 and 40 Hz will make for an efficient enclosure. All you'll need is 400 to 600 watts.
