I Have A Box That Requires .61 Non Ported For My Two 12's That Require .75-2.0 Cu Feet. Any Suggestions On Either Buying Some New Subs, Or Making A Port In My Box??, If So What Are Some Good Subs (12") That Are Somewhat Cheap And Would Go Good With This Box?

probly around $250 for a pair. i have two different amps. im using the kenwood kac7204 1000w 2 channel right now. i have it bridged to my subs. i also bought a kacx10d and its worse then the kac 7204. it sounds good now that its bridged, but i dont think i have enough power to my subs. i posted another question about which new amp i should buy in the amp forum, maby you could give me a little advice on that. its under subject: boss amps...good or not

i just looked and your amp is olny 500x1 at 4 ohms. how are your subs wired to it ?

maybe you could stuff the box with polyfill. it might be able to fool the subs in to thinking they are in a slightly larger box.

somebody else told me to stuff my box with poly fill but i thought that was a mith??? my subs are wired in parellel at 4ohms each so 2 ohms all together go to the amp, cause its bridged. which amp are you talking about is 500X1 at 4ohms?

your kenwood amp is 250 Watts x 2 RMS @ 2 Ohms or 500 watts x 1 RMS @ 4 Ohms which means your amps is only stable at 4ohms when you bridge it.

    your other amp kacx10d is 4 ohms: 300 watts x 1 channel or 2 ohms: 600 watts x 1 channel

If you're running your subs at 2ohms load then I would use the kacx10d amp instead for the subs.

you're subs are SVC, right? i didn't look at the brand or the model of your subs, that's why i'm asking.

yea they are svc, but it sounds better with the kac7204 bridged instead of the kacx10d. i should sound better with the kacx10d though right???

yes, it should sound better with the kacx10d. maybe it's your settings on the amp.

so....does it really help if you fill your box with polyfill?? the speaker terminal cups for the box are located in the middle of the box on the bottom side, what i did was just took those completly out and ran the wires throgh the two 2" holes straight to the subs and it sounds a little better(kind of like having two little 2"port holes). should i put polyfill in the box??
