Putting 6.5'' in doors of cherokee, which material?

    I want to put 6.5'' cdt comps in the front doors and most people use the carpet but I don't like the look of it at all on the doors which are plastic so what are some other options I can do. I was thinking a carbon fiber look, anybody know where you can get sheets of fake carbon fiber?

    Why dont you just use the speaker grill that comes with the speaker, you can always get some interior spray and paint them to match the doors. If you use a solid material like carbon fiber it will reflect the sound cause its solid. You need something that the sound can pass through.

    I will use the grills but I'm saying surrounding the grills too where it would need to need some modifying maybe, actually I was thinking of finding old grey leather like in the cherokees and using that, it would still match and look way better than stock.

    you mean around the speaker area? some vinyl from a fabric store maybe.

    Are you cutting the hole yourself or is there a factory cutout for the speakers, why would you need modifications.

    what i would do is if its an oldder jeep and you wanna pimp your ride... take the panel off get a sheet of the fiber glass cloth make that fit snug and cut out where you ant the speanr and raise it out for the depth and then once you get the cloth down. start coting with fiber glass and then once it dry sand it and paint it and put your speaker in and you good too go you got new speaker and custom doors maybe cost you 400 dollars.

    $400?!? Wow, that is quite a bit for a front stage. not ounting the speakers, u should be able to make it in fiberglass for like $50
