alright well yesterday i was driving listening to music as i always do, not at an unreasonable volume or anything, doing what i do every time i listen to music in my car. But suddenly my front two speakers and sub just cut out, with a click kinda noise; and then a few moments later they will turn back on; all the while my rear speakers, that are not amped keep on playing as they normally do. since then its been doing that to every source of music, ipod, cd, radio. and i kind of notice that it only happens at higher volumes when a part of the song will be especially "loud" i am assuming the amp is going into protection mode, but i have no idea why. it has never done anything like this before, ive had no problems. does anyone have any idea of what is going on? or how i may be able to determine what is going on? or how i can fix what ever is happening?
alright well i just checked the voltage on the battery terminals and the amp terminals, with my car running while the speakers will still turning on and off; and its was a steady 14.3v, thats normal isnt it?
oh, and it turns on and off right when i turn the music up, not after awhile when it could start to overheat. it doesnt feel warm and its in my trunk where it has always been with no problems
from just messing with the gains and crossovers on the amp, the problem has stopped. i dont know what was going on but i dont care, it works properly again. i just hope it stays "fixed"
yeah thats what i think, i think it was like "stuck" in high pass filter for my first and second channel, cause i think it was the higher frequencies that would put it into protection mode. but everything works perfectly fine for now.
