I had to change my wifes car from RCAs to LOCs going off the Alpine. I used the output on the 4 channel to the input of the bass amp and I get very little bass. The sub just BARELY moves, I turned up the gain from 1/4 to 3/4 and get a tiny bit more. Is it not getting enough signal from the 4 channel? Should I throw in my old PG line driver in between the 4 channel and bass amp??

I am a bit rusty but I would say go with the line driver and see if that helps. Thats probably where I would start.

Levels are set very very low, anything higher than 1/4 turn it gets distorted. They are coming off of speaker outputs of the Alpine HU so maybe it puts out more than a factory HU. If coming off the RCA sub out everything is fine so I know its not the amp. Just wondering what type of signal the 4 channel sends through its output.

what you are saying is confusing...sounds like you have it wired two different ways.

HU - LOC - Bass amp

    or

HU - 4 channel - LOC from outputs of 4 channel - bass amp.

What is the rated input voltage of the LOC??

What is the model numbers of the amp??

    What HU is this??

    Model number of the LOC??

I wouldn't use the outputs of the 4 channel amp for the LOC signal. Too much power IMO.

does your 4 channel not have any low level outputs??

I was thinking someone will get confused. Its a long story but here goes. Wifes car -2000 Taurus. Alpine 9805 HU. There is a steel brace that runs exactly behind the HU all the way accross the dash, when the HU is installed with the RCAs they get squashed against this brace. After about 3 or 4 months of driving they get broken down and give a lot of noise.
Ive replace them about 4 times already. Soooo I decided the only way fix this problem was to use LOCs off of the Alpine speaker outputs and tuck them down into the dash away from this brace. It worked great, before the HU would sit out almost a 1/4 inch but now its flush. But I get very little bass. The 4 channel amp is a Oz Audio Vector 50.4 and the bass amp is a Crossfire CFA 1000 D. The sub is a new 10 inch dual voice coil Bazooka tube wired to 2 ohm, that crossfire will easily put out 500 watts at 2 ohm (probably a lot more). With the RCAs the gain was at 1/4 now its almost all the way up and the tubes woofer is barely moving. Yes the polarity is correct, no protection on any amps. Will the subwoofer level on the HU still work even if im not using the sub RCA output, I turned it all the way up but nothing happened.

The LOCS are the ones that were installed in my Sable, they are Hitrons, rating says 4 to 40 watts.

Sorry didnt mean to hit reply yet. So im using the LOCs to the OZ 4 channel than the output from that amp to the input of the Crossfire.

i was going to suggest the same thing with the right angle rca's

any other way to protect the rca's? tape, wire loom?

Tried those a long time ago, CAnt get all 6 on. Tried turning them all different ways but they wont fit. I think I got 3 on. I might pull the HU back out and try to put them just on the sub output and keep the LOCs on the 4 channel.
