well I guess I'm not allowed to post anywhere except in this forum. I tried to post something in the general discussion and it said it had to be approved but that was 2 or 3 days ago. At any rate I will just read and see what I can learn then.

Really? that doesn't sound right. you should be able to post anywhere you want. Anyway, if you have any questions then just shoot. We'll be happy to answer any questions you have.

Well I tried posting again. This time in I tried the same post in the head unit forum and the same thing happened. It says my post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it, which I can understand but is the moderator on vacation? If he or she is that is fine. I am just not sure my posts are even getting through to them is all I'm saying.

Ok that's understandable. Anyway what I was wondering is if there are any honda accord owners here that can help me out. I just got a 2004 accord sedan last week and it just has the stock sound system in it. It sounds nice and all but I am looking for a top notch sound quality system. The only problem is the factory radio is integrated with the climate control console.

There are two things I can do with this scenario. One is to get this Honda Accord Factory Integration Adapter Factory stereo integration adapter for 2003-up Honda AccordWith heating, ventilation, and AC controls at Crutchfield.com and another route I can go is with this Honda Accord Kit 2003-up, chassis size E at Crutchfield.com

But neither of these products have received very flattering reviews. I was just wondering if anyone on here has owned or does own these components and are they as flimsy and cheaply made as some folks say they are. If so I will probably just stick with the factory radio and forget about a system altogether.

LOL well I just tried again on this forum and it wouldn't let me post. I guess because I put a couple of links in so people could see what I am considering buying. Maybe the moderators have to approve any post containing links. I will try and put it into words here without links and hope people know what I am talking about.

I just bought a 2004 honda accord sedan that has the stock sound system in it. I thought about getting an aftermarket head unit but the factory radio is integrated with the climate control all on the same console. There are two options I have. One is a replacement console that allows a regular din sized aftermarket unit and also has the climate controls for the accord. It is made by metra I believe.

The other option is a bracket that fits in the little cubby hole below the dash that holds an aftermarket radio. The factory radio/ac console stays..the radio just doesn't produce sound any longer.

But neither of these adapters have gotten very flattering reviews and I was wondering if there are any accord owners here who have these things installed and are they as flimsy and cheaply made as some folks say they are.

Since I can't post links to pics I hope the people here know what I am trying to describe.

The one that pedro just gave the link for looks pretty decent. It does have mixed reviews but i think it's a lot than your second option (bracket that fits in the little cubby hole below the dash that holds an aftermarket radio. The factory radio/ac console stays..the radio just doesn't produce sound any longer).

I'm assuming this is what you car looks like now and just trying to imagine a stereo being in a cubby hole just wouldn't look that great. I think you'd be better off just getting the factory integration adapter. I think you'll be happier with the look that way

I got ahead of myself. I just looked at the pics of both styles. I like the cubby hole style better. I dash mount that changes the factory style looks cheap.

how about keeping the stock head and running a clean sweep or an audiocontrol unit?

Thanky'all very much for the replies. Pedro I thought about that. And I did some searching and the cleansweep sounds like it does wonders but.....

I read that it causes you to lose the factory steering wheel controls for the radio. I also saw information on the rockford 3sixty that looks like it might do the job.

The local shop here in town carries LOC's from pac. But then again some people say loc's add noise to the system. Keeping the stock radio would be just fine with me if I could keep the steering wheel controls and add amps, speakers, and still have decent sound quality. I don't know much about audiocontrol so I can't comment on that company.

And yes cccullen that is indeed what it looks like now. I like that look. I'm not really into flashy displays I just want good solid sound and besides. I don't think thieves steal factory radios.

Well I see that one of my original posts got approved. Would one of you moderators kindly delete the ones that aren't needed?

    Thanks
