Im assuming you checked for a virus or Trojan horse?? Have you cleaned the cache? A good program to use is CCleaner. You can download it for free from filehippo, it will clean all the crap off of your computer and you can also check your registry with the program. Its a good place to start and wont cost you anything.

hey, one thing, i would stay away from the registry, for professionals only lol. Next thing you know the computer won't boot at all. A few things i would say it is. If your norton internet security is expired it will start messing with internet explorer. It kind of sounds like your internet explorer is screwed. You can go to my computer/control panel/add remove programs and remove any garbage that's in there like screensavers or yahoo toolbars or any stuff that you see has tacked on to internet explorer. An easy way to see is get firefox browser and try that one. Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable
Also if you have trouble running multiple programs then you most likely need more memory. Go to my computer/control panel/system and check how much memory you have. Also make sure your hard drive is not completely full. Your computer probably needs to be formatted and new windows installed fresh, probably time for that but you should be able to get around these problems for now.

    Viking is in here lol...

The history of piracy dates back more than 3000 years, but its accurate account depends on the actual meaning of the word ‘pirate’. In English, the word piracy has many different meanings and its usage is still relatively new. Today, some uses of the word have no particular meaning at all. A meaning was first ascribed to the word piracy sometime before the XVII century. It appears that the word pirate (peirato) was first used in about 140 BC by the Roman historian Polybius. The Greek historian Plutarch, writing in about 100 A.D., gave the oldest clear definition of piracy. He described pirates as those who attack without legal authority not only ships, but also maritime cities. Piracy was described for the first time, among others, in Homer's The Iliad and The Odyssey. For a great many years there remained no unambiguous definition of piracy. Norse riders of the 9th and 11th century AD were not considered pirates but rather, were called "Danes" or "Vikings". Another popular meaning of the word in medieval England was "sea thieves". The meaning of the word pirate most closely tied to the contemporary was established in the XVIII century AD. This definition dubbed pirates "outlaws" whom even persons who were not soldiers could kill. The first application of international law actually involved anti-pirate legislation. This is due to the fact that most pirate acts were committed outside the borders of any country.

Sometimes governments gave rights to the pirates to represent them in their wars. The most popular form was to give a license to a private sailor to attack enemy shipping on behalf of a specific king – Privateer. Very often a privateer when caught by the enemy was tried as an outlaw notwithstanding the license. Below we tried to outline a selective history of piracy, selective and arbitrary because there is so much that can be said about piracy and it is impossible to tell all. We hope that even this brief introduction will show the spirit and truth about the piracy the way we see it.

ok.my comp is still shuting down for no reason.it will cost 70 to check it and if its the hard drive will be at least 250 to fix,but for 500 i can get a new one.

i'll keep this one for my mom.i'll just remove most of the drives and keep it to a bare minimum.

other than the wireless driver and dvd/cd player what else should i keep on it and what can i remove?

you can delete everything all the way down to the bare system (xp or vista which ever you have). keep the graphics, sound, office and like printer/scanner drives you might have. then defrag the computer and there should be a huge difference and shouldnt shut down as much

What computer is this? Toshiba satellite? Does it keep restarting or just shuts down and stay off. Toshiba laptops have a problem with the fans, if the fans are underneath, don't put anything in the way of the fans. The newer computers will shut down if it starts to overheat. You can also take a vacuum cleaner and clean the fan holes, a layer of dust gets in there through time and blocks the cooling. Is there any error when it starts to shut down?

whenever i was working at a shop i notice toshiba satellites held more dust than other designs which obviously lead to them overheating quite often. Pedro that price you put up sounds ridiculous. At my old shop it would cost half that for the same service.

well i just got me a new comp.an apple macbook.i mean i just turned it on like 5 min before this.

my old comp is a compaq presario.basicly an hp.the fan is working on it,and the estimate was 70 to 140 to check it,and if it needed a hardrive it could cost as much as 250.worst case senario.
someone told me it could also be the mother board messing up.so i just sprung for a new one.when i figure this thing out i'll post a pic.i just need to figure out how to open multiple pages.
