Been away from car audio for about 8 yrs and tring to catch up on whats good and whats not so good. Real nice forum here, lots good info and some interestings topics. So anyway here is where I'm at, getting ready to put system together in new project ride. Budget isn't a factor but space is, 1998 reg cab Chevy truck. From the research so far I'm leaning towards 2 RE Audio SE 12's and US Amps XT-2000D. If there is something that may work better for me, looking for good SQ and one that can get low and loud as well, I know want everything lol. Any thoughts or comments?
stay away from the US Amps Xterminator amps...Overrated crap from what I hear from people who have these amps. There's better out there for the money.
welcome. i hear sundown and the ED nine 1 kick ass for the money. rated at 12v tons more power at 13+v of corse there are many more amps that will work for you.whats your budget?
LOL, budget? What is that? Gave up any thoughts of a budget when I started this project. So far around 18k in motor/tranny/transfer case and around 14k in suspension and axles and nowwhere near done. I perfer to use only the best products avalible that have proven performance and realibility which is easy in the 4x4 world cause that is what I know. I've quickly learned that asking which is "best" in car audio world usually ends in an never ending debate, lol. So I have no problem paying fair price for a good quaility product, but don't want to waste money on an overpriced underpowered amp just because of the name that happens to be on it. I just need some help from people that have more current experience with todays audio products to find what that is. My biggest issue is space. I have enough room to build a box that is 2.3 cubic ft. inside volume and a max mounting depth of 6 3/4 inches. I need 2-12 subs that will work in that enviroment and an amp that will push them to their limits. If it costs 500 great, if 2000+ thats fine too. Looking for good quaility and performance.
I'm Jonesing to get this, will get it eventually, i have two kicker cvr12s at the moment and they are good for now. I choose this mainly because of the replaceable cone, everything is clamped, so it's easy to change from what i've read anyways lol. Yet to hear one, but i know back in the day cerwin vega was king for speakers. Cerwin-Vega STROKER PRO 15 Car Speaker Cerwin-Vega STROKER PRO 15 Car Speaker - Technical specifications - Yahoo! Take a look at Boston Acoustics SPG 555 subwoofers. A neighbor down the street has 2 of these in his F350 super duty in a custom 2 cubic foot sealed box under the rear seat and is using a Earthquake PHD amp, I think its the 5000 watt one. He has CDT components up front, this thing is crazy loud, but its so musical its insane. If I could afford those subs id buy them in a second, you need to check them out. Also check out OZ AUDIO matirx or even the power series if you want to go over the top.
