I have a 10W2 with dual 2 ohm voice coils that I am having a hard time with. It cuts out completely sometimes, and if I press the cone in just a little bit it comes back in. I checked all teh external wiring on it and it seems fine. I need to know what I can do to open it up and check whats going on.

    Thanks!

sounds like it may need a recone.

i dont think it's something youcan fix.

I am pretty sure its an internal wiring issue, would a recone fix that? is this speaker worth reconing or should I just buy something new? I am using an amp that is supposedly 550 watts. Its a single 10 in an F150

maybe it has a broken or loose tinsel lead.

sounds like the tinsel lead is broken where it meets the coil...same sh!t happened to me...so i plugged it into a wall socket and KABOOM...problem fixed

Its wierd, I removed the dust cover from the center of the speaker today to check the tinsel leads. Ever since then its worked fine. I still may get a replacement though.
