Alright, a guy with a Grand Marquis just like mine wants me to design/possibly build him a box for his 18" solo x. He says it's the 2006 model. I couldn't find the 2006 manual. The 2003 manual says: Tuner : 5 cu.ft. Port: 60sq.in. x 14.5” Fb= 35Hz, Pmax= 5000W ( with 25hZ subsonic filter) SUV: 10 cu.ft. Port: 150 sq.in. x 21” Fb= 35Hz, Pmax=4500W ( with 25hZ subsonic filter) SPL: 10 cu.ft. Port: 300sq.in. x 9” Fb= 56Hz, Pmax= 10000 (Above tuning freq. only) What volume, tune, port area, sub/port placement would you guys do?
His max dimensions are 40" wide, 24" deep, and 24" tall... but having the same car and the fear of building a box that won't fit I'd say 40" wide, 22" tall, 22" deep if possible. I mean I know this box is probably going to have to be 1.5" thick on all sides and have 4x4's for bracing.
hey eazy, i was going to say you could sell your kicker subs and the box only then grab an ED 190v.2 18" and use an amp for each coil. With the proper box. The wattage between the sub and the amps should be perfect. Need the full specs.. Kicker Solo X 18" 2006 Or he exact model number.. Kicker SoloX S18X Car Subwoofer 10,000 watts peak 5000 watts rms lol wow. And is it dual 2 ohm or 4
although the specs do not change much from year to year, they DO change.. Be sure to get the up to date info before design and build. car audio companies want to sell this years model.. not last. They will make minor changes, and these could be substantial in obtaining optimum performance. oh, by the way this box is going to pound. 18" solo x... are you kidding? got your earplugs handy?
i have a vid of one in action. get this....it hits sooo hard the tires vibrate. wait and i'll up load it.
