Im looking at the fosgate 360.2, audiocontrol DQL-8 or the alpine pxe-h650 units. What im trying to do is get good sound quality out of XM, the signal is so compressed that it sounds like dooodooo. Fm and CD sound awesome but the XM just makes me cringe when I listen to it. I have not been around for a while so ill give you a refresh on my system, Focal 6.5 comps up front and Focal coax in rear. Both are the polyglas series. Hifonics amps for front and rear. subs are PPI dcx124s at 1 ohm (2 12s). Any help would be great.

Personally, I don't think you'll be able to recover anything.

Basically, what you'll end up with is "processed dooodooo". The digital artifacting is what you are complaining about, I know, because it's my complaint with satellite radio, as well, but I've never seen anything to recover what is already gone.

When you have a system like yours, with better thana verage resolution, if it's there, you'll hear it, and processising wont "remove" that hashy, metallic, gritty sound that you're hearing in the upper registers, it'll just EQ it.

Most processors won't be able to choose that as a source, either... it'll "fix" all sources, just the same, sarificing higher harmonics, and drastically altering your frequency response, especially on CD.
