viper 5900 sst range

    i found new viper 5900 sst range to be very disapointing.. i only get around 20 meters if it is blocked by a 3 storey building.. i understand range will be affected by buildings blocking.. but 20 to 50 meters is really way too low for the claimed 1mile.. if both the car n transmitter are in the air air then i get around 150-180 meters max.. i have checked the basics.. my antena is fixed to the windscreen right behind my rear mirror and the tranmitter wire is fully extended.. my transmitter battery is new n show full bar in the lcd.. really hope u guys can help me.. thanx alot in advance

    i do have reflective tint on the top part of the windscreen where my antena is .. Does those tint greatly affect the range?

    ok then ill ask my installer to move the antena Will let u guys know the outcome Thanks

    I have the same problems with my 5900. Out in the open it works at least 1/4- 1/2 mile for me... but not with buildings in the way. I don't have any aftermarket tint on my windshield... just the stock faded tint near the rear view mirror. My antenna is up by the rear view mirror.
