As always, let YOUR ears tell YOU what sounds the best.

Like I always say, all speakers sound like crap, ALL OF THEM (compared to a live performnance) YOU be the judge of what speakers sound right to YOU

My suggestion too you is to go out with a favorite CD that you KNOW very well as far as SQ goes, and listen to any and all speakers....

As a matter of fact, go into a high end home audio shop and listen to some nice expensive home speakers run off a nice expensive amp....listen carefully as to how it sounds, then remeber the sound the best you can, ThEN go listen to car audio components.....

And remember, some speakers are a little more efficient that others, so the louder ones may trick you into too sounding better.....That dont mean they SOUND better....

Infinitiies are a popular brand, as are many other brands out there...

Look into Orions, Bostons, and any other name brand....Look for quality x-overs, those that have at least 12 dB/octave on the tweeters (and some protection for them dont hurt either), look for quality construction, and flexible mounting options for the tweeter.

And above all, LISTEN to the ones you really like over and over, do plenty of comparisons and take nottes if you have too....

Just cause your buddy says they sound good, dont mean they sound good to YOUR ears....

    very true.EVERYONE hears diffrently.

i have a buddy that has an ok set up in his truck, but he has his highs set too high for my taste.to him though he wants more.might have something to do with working on a printing press for over 20 years.the old ones are louder than our new ones.

Thats right Pedro....years of high levels of noise exposure can ruin hearing.

I have seen it, and have personally experienced it.

That is why we say to listen to speakers on your own a nd YOU decide the best!!!

I like my treble up a bit on my systems....due to my lack of higher end hearing....

THe ol lady who has never worked in a noisy enviorment thinks the sound is is too "bright"....too me it sounds right.

I know that when i listen too a good sytem tha I wont hear the upper registers as well as the lower ones, and compensate for that in my listening.

There is a guy on caraudio.com selling two pair of a/d/s 346is 6.5" component sets with the 346is crossover networks. These are the real deal a/d/s speakers (pre-DEI) and they were quite expensive new. He is asking like $165 but I am sure you can work a deal to get them for $150. Just make sure he has the hardware/cups to mount the tweeters in since it is not pictured. You won't regret the purchase if you decide to go that route.

That said I agree with Viking get out there and listen we all hear and interpret things differently so what sounds good to me may not sound good to you.
