I think the Viper 2400D is way out of my price range... I saw a link on the web selling it at $1400... This isn't for me, but a customer of mine, who I had nearly talked into a pair of JBL amps, two 1200.1's, under $300 each. Unfortunately, it has no subsonic filter, no remote gain control... And given the install (fairly high tune, huge SPL type box), I think those features should be present in this install. We need to power a trio of 15W6's, so at a minimum I am looking at 1200 watts I need, 2400 at most. If I went with 1 amp, I could wire for either a 1 ohm or a 4 ohm mono load (the W6's have dual 6 ohm voice coils). If I went with 2 amps, I could wire for two 2 ohm mono loads (three voice coils per amp). If I went with 3 amps, I could wire for three 3 ohm mono loads (which doesn't personally sound too ideal to me). Any suggestions? Michael.. any suggestions are welcome... Can you get Viper audio? Price on the 2400d (if for nothing else but to amuse me? ) Or another product? I am looking for something at least in the JBL quality range. Thanks!
Viper is a Direct line only... Since I dont buy direct rom DEI I dont have viper I do have the DEI 2400D (non-viper) one (there is no viper 2400D BTW that is the d2500.1) but it is well over $600 I have to look but it is closer to the $850 range you want ONE or TWO a7's
the viper and directed amps are the same thing just a little better filters on the viper line. Geo go for the directed 2400d its worth it. ::::Runs out to his truck to listen to his::::
Well, the one 2400D would be ideal, but out of the price range I am sure... If you could let me know, I will pass it on. But I think one A7HC would be ideal for three 15W6's... They are, after all, technically rated at 400 watts each.. I know they will take more, but I am building a TEN cubic foot box tuned to about 40Hz... Efficiency is on my side!
another option might be the Z777D i dont have a offical Price yet but it will do a little more power than the A7 (rumors are 1800W's @ 1ohm) and it has a Remote Bass Knob, but not a remote gain........... What HU does he have, I know my HU has a Remote Gain essentally... with the Sub output voltage controls built in
what about the RE amp or the Ampman/Adire amp? both of those are rated at just a little over 1500 and are 369 each..shipped...

the RE 35.1 is bad ass .... monster amp 1580 and then some at 1 ohm @ 12 V ... Mine is on the way ... I'll let you know how it turns out, plus the thing is listed at 369 !! A7HC is what ... 419 i think .... either way, both are very nice
Keep me updated on that Z777D... Although I believe he wants to order within a week, maybe two... might be a touch to early for that amp. He is getting a new head unit, that has a subwoofer output and control, so you are right, that might eradicate the need for a remote gain control. But I definitely want a subsonic filter!
I agree with your thinking 100% Johnny... If I were buying for myself, I would undoubtedly try the RE amp in this application myself! But because I am making a recommendation to someone else, I feel a lot more comfortable going with a brand that I know... I know nothing about the quality of the Adire or RE amps (nor do you).... The price difference makes the undoubtedly very small risk well worth it! Not to mention that you will have an amp that sets you apart, that no one else in your neighborhood has or knows about.. And that's not exactly what he is looking for either (although I sure would be!) I am going to check those amps out more though, trust me!
Very true ... I dont know much at all about the quality of the RE amp, but after several discussions with someone from RE and another friend of mine who is authorized for them I had to get one. I have been given the go ahead on .5 ohm burps He would probably be happier with a well recognized brand, but when I get my RE 18" HC's and this amp, everyone will recognize that the weird little RE logo is the shit If he is in a hurry, I'm sure mike can get the order in for an A7HC and he'll have it in a couple days
