When building a box and venting the unit, which side do the speakers hav to go on, the same side the port is facing? I am using an L-port design and I always though the speakers have to mount in the same direction as the open port? is this true? Also the l-port is just that an l, does this mean that the speakers rear has to face the back side of the port?

Do I need to mount the subs on the posrt side?

Generally you put the subs and the port facing the same direction to prevent any canceling. But in some cars/trucks you get better SPL out of a subs up port back design. It really depends on the application.
