So A buddy of mine works for a small home theater instal company that builds tricked out theater rooms for people who have entirely too much money. Last time I saw him he made me 4 heavy gauge coax RCA's with proconnect terminals. He told me that these were as good as you can get. So I installed them and man did they make a difference. I would compare them to any other $50 set of RCA's. So last week I see my buddy again and he gives me this new 4ch Mini Hi-res cable with even better proconnects and tells me that they are going to be the new standard and I am going to notice a difference. So I installed them yesterday and I cannot believe it. My hi's are crisper and much cleaner and the midbass is clearer than ever before. I know a lot of this is due to the rest of my equipment, but still I am truely impressed. Now I need him to make me another set for my home theater. Anyways just my take on some new technology -Me-
Intersesting really..... I have used monster cable,,,,custom interconnects from every freekin manufacturer, made my own, used gold plated ends, tried the best of the best....... In ALL A/B comparisons using the same equipment.....little and in all reality, NO difference was realized between a set of 100 dollar interconnects and a set of 10 dollar interconnects..... I will argue this to the day i die......you wanna waste cash for a "high end" set of cables, ya go ahead....Of course, if they are free, i will take them, but in a real audiophile scenario....you wont hear a difference...... Unless you use beer cans for the terminations.........
I have always felt the same way, but I am not kidding. If someone ever throws you a free set, even just to try em out, give em a try. You could see for yourself but I definitely noticed one hell of a difference.
