ok like the tread says what have you done to mees up your ride.

today i degreased my engine and thought i fuked up cause my truck would not start for an hour.it would just turn over.

here's the kicker i never wet the distributor.after i got it started it would sputer when i gave it gas.so i just let it idle for a while, and after 15 mins it was fine.

    i know real dumb.yeah thats what i told myself.

Probably the dumbest thing i've done to my ride was rip up my differential without even knowing how i managed to do it. In fact, i'm still waiting for the parts! LOL

umm ive done all kinds of stupid stuff. Like strip the bolts on the manifold to turbo.. 3 times.. one right after the other.. yeah.

oh I also drove my old rx7 into a ditch. going about 60 hit a curb straight on and flew through the air till i landed into a 12 foot ditch. Yeah that hurt. Car wasnt as bad as i thought though.. just bent the control arm on the right front tire.. about it .. oh and smashed the rim real good.

Um...my friend A sold my other friend B some 18 inch rims and tires...friend A put the rims and tires on friend B for him...with a 7 INCH LONG SOCKET WRENCH.

While my friend B was driving home his front left rim and tire CAME OFF!!!. He pulled over and called us...he sped there like crazy...the run away wheel hit a parked S-10. Friend B was like "I tightened the nuts as hard as I could, I dunno why them would come loose". Neighbor guy comes out to see what is goin on and says...well the tires are backwards...they are directional. Friend B who OWNED the rims and tires for atleast a year said he had no idea they were directional.

Neighbor guy said you really don't know what your doing and you shouldn't have put them on for him...he said wow I am retarded. He put the rim back on as tight as he could and then drove to the nearest Raben Tire and had them do it right. Friend B got a free full set of 2000 dollar rims and tires.

Moral of the story....don't install rims and tires with a 7 inch long socket wrench when you have never installed rims before.

    I was like "dumbass"

well, this is an audio forum so..........

I installed a stereo in my first car. When I sold it I was removing the stereo out. I was too lazy to remove the interior to get the main line to the amplifier out so I just started chopping the wire at different points and pulling. I removed the wire all the way to the front fender and the wire hit the body. did I forget to mention I never disconnected it from the battery and never put in a main fuse

rolled a blazer i used to drive, then got mad and busted out all the windows and took a sledge hammer and pounded the whole body, then kept it as a daily driver fun in the winter. :)

i have another.i went camping one time with a friend about 8 years ago in ocala.so we decide to go driveing around the woods to explore and get familiar with the area.
so a few miles from camp we find a quicker route back to camp, but it was through some deep ass suger sand.it would have saved us about 30 min.so my buddy goes flying though this stuff at maybe 30 miles per hr and makes it all the way.so i try,and well......i get about half way and boom.i'm stuck.bad stuck.rear diff touching bottom stuck.

so my buddy says i can go back and pull you out.i said lets go back to camp and ask someone to pull us out.before i knew it my friend was stuck right in front of me.ha!.

so after 2hrs trying to dig him out we get his back out.go to camp ask our camp nieghbor and he got it out in about a min. now that i think back it was pretty funny, and dumb on my part and his.

    Been there Dreamz!

Early in my career, I was changing front springs in a 76 Towncar. Had my compressor in the spring all wound down. Took a hammer to the lower ball joint to bust it loose, which it did. Compressor let loose, control arm hit my hand between the first and second finger. Went to the emergency room, they saw the blood, got me right in. Put a blood pressure cuff around my arm, scraped out all the grease and rust, cleaned it all up, and scheduled surgery. I gotta say, the pins and needles from my arm being without flow for that half hour-45 minutes was some of the worst pain I have ever felt.

Still got my scar and the pins to remind me to be careful around coil springs as well.
