I have been trying to decide what amp to purchase. I have a Pioneer 740mp, Alpine Type R 6.5" comps and 1 12" Alpine Type R (DVD 4+4)sub in a sealed box. I had never heard of Cadence until I started reading this forum but they look awsome! I have pretty much decided that it will be a Cadence amp and I will get it from shop4sound. I don't think I can afford the high end stuff so I think I want the Z series, they look the best anyway. What amp(s) will fill the bill? I like the idea of 1 amp but am a little concerned that it won't give my sub the power I needs. I really want to push it! I've only got one sub and it's in a sealed box so I want the power to make it move. I looked to the six channel (Z6000) and that looks promising, what different configurations can I run the channels at?

    6 X 75 @ 4
    6 X 150 @ 2
    4 X 150 + 1 X 400

This is right off Mike's site is this true? What is the bottom figure calculated at (2 or 4 ohm? Bridged or what?)?

    Can I have it like this: 2 x 150 + 2 x 400

150 for the front and 400 for each voice coil. Probably not because of the ohm configuration of my woofer.

Maybe I should just get 2 smaller amps like the Z1000 for the sub and the Q3000 for my front channels.

On the Z1000 if it is a mono block amp then what do these specs mean?

4 OHM RATED POWER: 10 Watts
    2 OHM POWER: 300 Watts
2 OHM MONO POWER: 400 Watts

How do you get 2 ohm mono? Isn't it already a mono amp? This has me confused.

Help give some suggestions and the reason why one configuration over the other.

    William

    hey man
    welcome to the forum:clap:

i see no reason why you need a 6 channel amp

i would probably go with 2 smaller amps

    perhaps a q3000 and a z1000hc like you suggested

im not sure how much the type R's can handle, but im pretty sure it wont like 800rms for every day

Thanks, That is probably what I will do. The only problem is the space. I don't want to use the whole back of my truck so I am limiting my space to half the back. This will give me room to carry one passenger in the back and still have my music. I am designing the box to be removable just in case I need the other side (I hope that never happens). I also own an SUV so this is what I take if we go anywhere as a family.

So I guess I need to measure under my seats. I was originally going to mount the amp under my sub box in a false floor, but the space is only 10 1/2" (D) x 19" (W) x 4" (H). If I get two amps where will they go???

    Any suggestions?

I like the 2 amps. The Z1000 is a misprint right off the Cadence site. It is Rated 4 ohm, 4 ohm, and 2 ohm specs. Not Rated 4 ohm, 2 ohm, and 2 ohm mono specs.

I suggest a nice rack on the back wall of the truck. I will take a pic of a simple install in my wifes truck. It was quite quick, and quite simple. I keep the intarcacies in my car;) .

the Cadence Z6000 is basically a 4channel and a 2 channle amp enclosed in one case

so basically you can have 4 channels to run your speakers (if you use all 4 factory speaks) and then the 2 other channels bridged to run a subwoofer

    the 400x1 is at 2ohm i beleive

So mike what do you think. Will the Z6000 fit the bill? Will it make the Alpine slam? I probably woun't play it load that often but when I do I want it to impress people. It would fit in the truck the best. But the cost is the same as the two amps.
