How do you wire 2 dual voice coil subs I just bought a rockford fosgate P6002 Amp. I am gonna hook it up to 2 Memphis dual voice coil subs. How do i do this without makeing it 1 ohm. The amp is 2 ohm stable. I don't know much about this Any help will be appreciated. Do you have to use both voice coils??
depends on what impedance the drivers are. Use this to figure out the ohm load http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp ...that amp is only 2 ohm stable in stereo operation and stable down to 4 ohms in mono
Thank you Thanks alot. That is just what i needed. My first post, and less than an hour later. Problem solved. I greatly appreciate it
One more question My amp certificate says: 237 RMS watts per channel @ 4 ohms 768 total RMS watts @ 2 ohms How do i get it to 2 ohms?? What is the best way to wire this stuff up.??
you cant get a 2ohm load with those subs. You can get a 1ohm or 4ohm load. so bridge the two channels to a 4ohm load on the subs. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161 use that diagram for 2 DVC subs and wire it to 4ohms.. and bridge your channels.
if that amp is only stable to 4 ohms mono then wire each sub into 8 ohms then wire them together for 4 ohms. or just wire them as 2ohms per channel in stereo like dave said while i was typeing this
your amp will put out its maximun power either at 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms mono...that 2 ohm rating must be per channel and combined.
