i have two 12" pioneer subs 800w 150w rms and my amp is a sony xplod(yea i hear sony amps suck but o well) 1300w max 550w x1rms into 4 ohms 900w x1rms into 2 ohms. when i hooked them up they didnt hit but i hooked them up just one at a time and they both worked. i dont know how to get both of them to hit. does it have to do with the wire gauge cause right now i have 18gauge wires

I'd use atleast 16 gauge wire for subs.

Also what impedance are the woofers????

How did you wire them up to the amp???

Go on Microsoft Paint and just draw how you have the wires comming from the amp and then to the subs. and how the subs are hooked up in the box.

Sounds as if you may have them wired out of phase possibly....

Thats what I was thinking viking. That happened to me one time and I felt like such an idiot when a guy at best buy, (of all places) just changed the polarity and it sounded great.

    live and learn

I'd be a lot easier if you just rewire it like the diagram and then tell us if there is a difference.

Trying to figure out the wiring from those photos isn't the easiest thing in the world

recheck all your connections to make sure that + is with + and - is with - on all connections.

    Ditto..check your connections

Use the copper colored wire for all the positive wires, and the silver wire for all the negative wires! Stay consistant!

is it possible you are wiring them to an 8ohm load instead of a 2ohm load?
