Hi, I just bought a 1997 GMC Yukon 4dr. I have not installed a deck yet but I will be purchasing a Pioneer. I already have an Obcon GZ 755-12 enclosure and I don't know which 1 of the 3 subs I'm thinking about getting would sound the best. Based on their tech data I will probably purchase either a the MTX TA4501 or TA3401 amplifiers. The 3 subs are: MTX T7512-44, Apline Type R SWR-1222D, and the Eclipse SW7200. Oh, my music preference is rap and I want to boom! Thanks guys
want BOOM use MTX, eclipse is for best SQL and some boom and alpine subs are just ****e! i would use the TA4501 amp.
lol come on dreamz....why you bagging on Alpine. Have had a couple Alpine Type R 12's in a ported box made by me and they sounded real nice and hit deeeppp...but that was because the enclosure of course. Shady, what are the specs of the box?? How much do you wanna spend on an amp?? subs???
16.5"H x 32.0"W x 18.0"D - 4.1 Cu Ft Air Space ONE SIDE IS TUNED AT 38 HRZ WHILE THE OTHER SIDE IS AT 45 HRZ
looks like an ABC/dual chambered ported box. here is the basics of that box...http://www.diysubwoofers.org/prt/dual_chamber.htm Well without knowing the volume of each chamber I really can't tell you what specific woofer will work best in that enclosure...but any of the woofers you suggested should work well. That box is tuned a bit high for daily driving...yeah the site says it will pound..that is because it is tuned high for a peaky response and that "boom boom" some people want. I'd rather stick to a regular ported enclosure but you already have that one...there are some chances of the woofer unloading below the lowest tuned frequency if you don't have a subsonic filter on your amp What type of music do you like to listen to?? if it is rap and hip hop than this box will sound great for you. If you want a box that will have a smoother response and sound good with most genres of music maybe we can design something for you if you have the tools and time to build a box yourself...
