    Hope you guys can give me a hand with this. I'm looking for an amp to power my DLS component speakers. the speakers are 50watts rms. I also want to get 12" sub or subs and an amp to power them as well. I would like to have the enclosure ported. I drive a '01 expedition so i have plenty of room to work with.

    I'm so confused at this point. here are what some people suggested:

    sub(s):
    Ascendant audio: Assassin 12”
    JBL P1220DII 12"
    Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1

    Sub(s) amp:
    MASSIVE AUDIO 800RMS/1600 WATT MAX AMPLIFIER AMP P800.
    PHOENIX GOLD Octane R 8.0:1 Mono Amp 800 WATT
    Phoenix Gold R15.0:1

    amp for my DLS:
    Phoenix Gold Octane-R 4.0:2
    Kicker KX150.2 Amp, 75Wx2

    Thing is, i would like to stick to one brand of amps (for look purposes). I really need as much help as i can get. Thanks.

    I'd get either one or two 15's than if you have the room...I had one 15 and it pounded...hard. A lot harder than all of my friends two 12s and such, except for my friend who has a couple Memphis Mojo 12's and 2200 watts.

    I had one 15 and 800 watts

    Infinities are good very high quality, But the other day I was at Best Buy I saw a single 12' Alpine Type R sub in a band pass box the box was only 15"X15''x 18 deep. even the display model with just enough power to make it thump like 750watts, Anyway when I was a kid I had 2 Rockford Fosgate 15s in my s10 that was sounded shamefull next to this single 12'Alpine Type R in a band pass box, if you put the sub and box together it ran like 239$ w/o the amp you could pry get the Alpine sub and box as well as an amp and wireing kit for just over 350, check out Best Buy online ( I hope I don't get lashed by the Moderator) I am not spamming but you asked where and what to get on a budget. I assure you if you heard that one sub you wouldn't need or want anything else!! I threw four 10'' Duals in my Grand Am like 3 monthes ago, right now I think they will all be coming out for that one sub

    listening to a sub on sitting on display at best buy is totally different than when you put it into a real car. Not to say that an Alpine R is bad at all. I just honostly think 2 perfects would have more output and SQ than 1 type R. I have heard both set ups and enjoy perfects more. Type R's do have excellent output though.

    Yeah sure that one Type R in the prefab bandpass box had some pretty good output...but that box is in no way designed for that sub...it is for noobs

    I really like the Type R's, in I dislike premade enclosures...The Inifinities would have way better sound quality and more output than that R in the bandpass...it is in the enlcosure my man
