Well ordered "all" my new goodies for the viii, should show up by wed currently running a pioneer deh-4700mp head, a mtx 2300x amp, a older mtx 2 way crossover, 2 pioneer ts-w251r 10's in a old ghetto mtx hatch back box (with a buzzing front panel) the amp and crossover are the only components that are more than 5 years old.
All are tucked into my markviii that has the stock JBL sys. Well needless to say the 5x7 have completely gone to hell, so with my money I received from Christmas and my birthday I am going to replace the interior set up. I ordered a set of clif designs cd 60.4c 6.5" component sys for the front doors, some blaupunkt 3 way 5x7's for the back and a new beat up mtx box from the late 80’s for the subs, also I picked up a mtx 4300x amp to run everything inside.
The 2 mtx amps were purchased together and "matched" I just bought one from a friend a while ago and one now.
I will run a set of 4 channel rca's from the headunit (HU only has 4 out) to the 4300, run a set of 2 ch rca's from the output on the 4300 amp to my crossover (already hooked up and has been for 3 years in the current veh) then back to the 2300, and then begins speaker wire madness!!!!
While I got the center counsel and radio out, im pull the dash (halfway) and replace the blend door motor (markviii prob) so it should be a fun day, gonna try and get it all finished on monday, got the day off but told my boss I would be there just not working on anyone else’s crap, I hope it all goes smoothly and if it does it shouldn’t be a problem. I will take pics for refrence and while i got them ill throw them up when im done

Nice...I am just not a fan of those new Pioneer blue cones...to me they are ugly as hell...but to each his own...I like the older model better...same specs but just a different ugly cone.

i agree, i had the grey cone with red and blur writing "350watt" whey worked great for 10 years, when the front panel of the box broke loose it would buzz and i thought i finally blew one, and bought some mtx subs that lasted 1 year till i blew the hell out of one, so i got some new pioneer subs, they hit good so thats good enough (for now)

i agree sony sucks!!!! wont put anything sony in any of my cars!!!
anyway all my stuff showed up on sat so let the fun begin tomorrow!!!
i allready swapped out the old broke mtx box, and what a difference that alone made, going from a ported box to sealed, everything ive had was ported and i fear change, so ported it has allways been, till now. ive allways been told that sealed was the way to go, but ive had good luck with ported. this box is within the speaker specs, as opposed to the "hand me down box" and it seems that the bass is stronger even at lower volumes, so now i cant wait to do the rest.
p.s. the box is some cheepie $40 box, looks good 3/4" MDF nice terminals and seemless carpet, i know i know everyone says you can build one cheaper but, im a mechanic not a carpenter, you should see some work i tried to do in my house, ugh!!

got everything in on mon, it sounds much better, now for the fun part of tuning everything, some songs have weak bass (and used to hit good), some have way too much, the only thing that changed in relation with the subs is that the rca's used to run from the H.U. (no seperate sub out) to the amp and now they run from the "sum output" (mixed signal from all 4 channels) on the 4 ch amp to the amp for the subs. both amps are older mtx 4300x (4ch) and a 2300x (2 ch) the sum out is screwing with me because when i try to fine tune the bass out of the components at the H.U.then the subs get weaker
