engine noise

    i got a new stereo 4 xmas its a double din type with a monitor connected to the head unit for playing dvd,s or whatever ya like.at the moment its getting a nasty whistling noise and gets higher when you rev.my last stereo didnt do this.any ideas.ive even gone to connecting it straight to battery.when you take the ariel out it goes but as soon as you put the stereo in the place and it connects to frame work of the car it starts again.:(

    Are you running an amp with this radio?

    yes two amps an rca into one running a sub then an rca out from that amp to another amp running 6*9 .all with own power and ground.even with these rca's out and just the head unit running the door speakers you can still hear the whining in those,thanx

    So. is this noise ONLY in the front speakers running off the radio?

    you get the noise i every speaker doesnt matter if its cd,radio or dvd.even if its running standard speakers and wiring it still does it

    viking he has the same problem i did where he can hear the motor through the car except you could hear the turbo through mine

    Does the noise go away if you disconnect the antena?

    If you uplug the rca's from the amp? or the radio?

    Probably a ground loop......
