Sry ive been absent lately guys i had finals week and they were killer, had to bust ass to pull my grades up Anyways i have a problem that i need help with. I have been trying to burn a music video DVD so i can play music vids in my car and thus far it wont read them. I have read in the manual that it requires a Video DVD and will not play Video CDs. So i burned several wideos on DVD-R discs and each one of them when installed said that an invalid DVD ROM has been entered. I used both Nero and Roxio to try and burn DVDs but its all the same. How do i go about burning them so i can play them on my Pioneer Avic-N1. Thanks alot guys
Are we converting an Mpeg or an AVI file to DVD? How are you transcoding the files? Are you ending up with a Video_TS file? How are you burning the Video_TS file? Not enough info in your post. What kind of media are you using? The better media will have an ID code that starts MCC-00*-***. Any other media is second Rate. The code is embedded into the media, you will need an Identifier to ID the media. I need more info. One other thing, there are many other better DVD players available, that will play any video file. I think your making a DVD data disk, wont play in anything but a computer. Did you test it in a home DVD player? I hate finals, got 2 "B's", dropped my GPA to 3.44.
to be honest i have no idea about any of that stuff or what it means lol no i didnt test it in a home player what should i use to make a vid dvd ive been downloadin a **** load of programs and none of them have like my friends which had a title screen and then it had little icons of all the movies you push them and then the movie plays inno what he uses and we dont talk anymore so i cant ask him if you can tell me what SHOULD work on an avic-n1 i will do that... thanks ranger
I have a program that makes Icons for each Video, its called SonicMyDVD. I use it occationally. Lets try something simple first, download DivX Player from www.divx.com and try burning just one music video and see if it plays. It can also ID the type of file that we have. If you go to HELP then click on About The DivX Player, you will get a text box. Click on information and it will tell us everything about the file that its playing. Try burning one and lets see what happens. Also lets see if the blanks your using are junk. Download DVD Identifier from http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/. This program will tell you what you have. Decent DVD's are made by Mitsubushi Chemical Company. When you run Identifier and put a blank DVD in your drive just clik on identify. It will display the manufacturer name and ID (it shoud be MCC) What are you studing? I hope your not a CS (Computer Science) major. A CS major taught me most of this many years ago.
thanks alot ranger im pretty sure he used sonicmydvd its like 100 bucks though to get lol i got work in 20 mins but i will dl both programs and see what happens thanks again Ranger! and im going for a major in accting and minor in buiz mgt
It depends on the speed of your computer. I have an Intel 3.4 Gig Extreme Chip in my computer, it only take me a two to three minutes to encode and burn a music video. Accounting and business, what a good idea Ctrl Alt Delete see if Divx is still running
ok same thing with divx said an invalid dvd rom has been inserted... also it will not play on my dvd player (my XBox) i opened DivX player added the vid to my lib dragged it onto the image of the DVD with flames on it and clicked burn
Try it on a home DVD player lets see what happens, I just made one the same way as I described to you and its working on my home DVD player
I dont believe the N1 has the capability to play DVD Video without a seperate player... I could be wrong, but I think you have to have a seperate DVD player.
the pioneer single din flip screen avic N1 can (thats what i have) its the double din D1 that cannot (it plays video cds not dvds) it specifically says plays dvds and i have played movies on it several times its playing burns that i cant figure out
I need the manufacture code, I sent a program that will ID the disk. Also I sent a program that will make Video_TS folders that Nero should be able to handle Ive never seen DivX fail, thats strange
I just IM'ed a friend of mine (a CS major ) he suggested one other thing, we need to make sure the Firmware of you DVD RW drive is up to date. It might need to be flashed. Go to "My Computer" and right click, select Properties. Select Hardware and then click on Device Manager. Go down the list and look for DVD or CD drive. Click on the + sign and select the drive you are using to burn the DVD's. Right Click on the drive and select Properties. Finally go to Details. The first part of the line is about the drive, then there is a long blank spot. The next part is the Firmware version of the drive. Write it down, go the the manufactures website and see if it is a current firmware version. If not download the up-to-date version and flash the drive. There is always a risk flashing a drive, YOU MUST follow the manufactures directions exactly or you may end up with a drive that doesn't work
I've never seen DivX fail, something else is going on. I made a music video just like I discribed to CadillacETC1997 and it worked in my home DVD player and in my truck, it should have worked for him. Next step is to make a Video_TS folder and attempt to burn it. If it fails, then we need to look at the hardware or the media One of the programs I sent him will make a Video_TS folder Also he said he downloaded these off the net so Decrypter is unnecessary. And besides its old and has not been updated in years. Most of my music videos are also downloaded from the net. I find that they make good demos for customers to see. And isn't DVD Shrink used for resizing a DVD9 (double layer) so that it will fit on a DVD5. I don't think that DVD Shrink has burn capabilities. I have to go now, have a Merry Christmas All.
you know what i though this irrelevant but i might add it the whole thing that inspired this is yesterday i JUST upgraded to a DVD R drive for my computer (my sisters lappy fried so before they took hers back for a full replacement i kinda swapped drives with her ahahaha) before then it only had a CDRW and a DVD playable drive reason i didnt mention this is b.c the second i pluged the drive in and turned on the comp it said new device detected and it shows that i have the Sony DVD-R DVD+R DVD-RW drive now...
Then lets make sure the drive is working properly. Go to My Computer right click, then click on properties. Just as before, click on Hardware and then on device manager. Click on the + sign next to CD or DVD or Optical Drives. Is your Sony drive listed there? Is there any strange symbols? like a yellow exclimation mark? If not it should be working properly. Go to Sony's website and locate any drivers that you might need, If there are drivers that need to be installed, most need to be installed prior to the drive being hooked up. Anyway one of the programs I sent can make a Video_TS folder. Load one video and tell it to convert. Note the output Folder because we need to be able to find the Video_TS folder. Did you ID the media Yet?
