I had a feeling it was him........This guy is just upset that he doesnt have a prelude or something. If he was secure with his boat then he wouldnt have to bash imports in every other post. Let him be........

you know whats really funny though. my honda has just as many american parts as your fire bird. the engine in my car was designed by acura, an american company. my car was put together in ohio. why bash on it??? god damn, a car is a car. i love seeing a corvette roll down the road it just looks sweet but when someone has taken the time to build up a civic or supra or other "import" i think that is sweet too.

i think its time to give the "imports" a break.

if it was N/A I doubt it.
And even a stock supra TT is slow as hell.
They run mid 13s stock. Thats pathetic, a TT V6 only running mid 13s. A 93-97 F-body will run mid 13s.

Yep, the only reason that my Civic isn't 100% "domestic parts content" is because it's an EX, which is a VTEC motor, and that head was built in Japan...

And my car was assembled in Canada, so that's not technically "domestic", but I consider Canada to be "domestic"... they aren't like another country, I think of them as a bunch of extra states and lots of wilderness reserves... :p

    Remember the Ford Probe (*cough*cough*mazdaMX-6*cough*)?

Personally, I am waiting to see my first "Pontiac Vibe" with a "I'm American, I buy American" sticker on it so I can laugh my ASS off at the rebadged Toyota Matrix... :p

    You know it's inevitable...

You don't know what you are buying anymore..
Cadillacs and Saabs that are both made in part in an overseas Opel plant... (well, the recently deceased Catera, anyways)
Fords that are built on global platforms, borrowing from numerous global plants...
And Japanese automakers who have addressed the American "buy domestic" concerns by establishing complete manufacturing processes on American soil, using American employees and American suppliers... it's not even fair to say that the cars were designed in Japan anymore...

What's your take on "domestic" and "imported" cars?
    Reality of current times?
Heritage of where the companies started?

Personally, I lean towards "right here, right now"...
But I know other people still think of a Honda as an "imported car" and all Fords as "domestic cars"...

Chrysler owned by Mercedes Benz... there's no such thing as import and domestic...
