Ok...I just purchased a Pioneer DEHP-6800-MP head unit and Pioneer CD-IB100 II Ipod interface. The interface requires a constant power source. Not being an electrical guru, I need help. I know I could run the wire to the battery, but there must be a better way! What do I connect the wire to? And HOW do I connect it (I told you, I'm no electrical guru!!). Please help, I have everything ready to go, but this...
connect it to the constant power wire that is going to your HU.simple as that.if you bought the radio you must have bought the wireing kit too right.?its the yellow wire. i have the 7800 and the install took all of 20 mins.
Did you get the Pioneer CD-IB100 II interface too? If so, I think I understand. I know the yellow wire. So, I conect the power wire from the interface to the yellow wire that came with the harness and connect those two to the power wire supplying the head unit? (I told you I'm no electrical guru!!!) There would be three wires all connected together for the power?
yes i did.you will have the yellow from the radio and interface connected to the factory constant wire.the ground is the same.and i think there is a remote turn on too.
ok...please bare with me...this is how it goes: Take the yellow wire from the wiring harness that came with the radio, connect to it the yellow wire for the interface and the yellow wire from the radio. Then connect the black ground on the wiring harness to the black ground on the radio and the black ground on the interface. Then, after all of the other connections for the supplied harness, connect to the factory harness on the truck? Is this correct?
