Ok, I'm getting a single cab '78 Chevy sometime soon and I have come in between all Kicker or all JL.

I mean, deck, amp, mids, tweeters, subs, the whole sha-bang.

If I go JL it'll be a single 13"W7 with it's repesctable amp, but if I go Kicker it will be 2 12" L7s with their respectable amp.

    Which one?!

Dunno, no worries on the wallet, I want to get figures now so I know how much needs to be set back. I'm 51% JL and 49% Kicker.

i have kicker amps and jl subs
to be honest i think the jl amps are priceyer due to their slash aka running the same power at all ohm levels. in my case i can run 1 or 4 ohms so it wasnt a big deal and i have my us amps de-1000 to power my subs
interior speaks i have infinity perfects up front kicker 6x9s and a kicker 350.4 powering them.
Subs beyond a doubt go JL
Speakers and amps save the money and buy Kicker

i was looking at 5 ch amps the other day and a 700.5 kicker amp retailed at 579.00 and a jl 500.5 was close to 700.and going by the specs, was 200 watts shy of the kicker.any ways i'm staying with my old school PG's.

Lol...If you can find some old school JL W6's than yes JL.

But I really like the Kicker squares...good sound quality and power handling. Hella potential. But sh!t I can never decide on what subs I wanna buy...I want every one I like lol

Seems to me that none of these people know anything about either woofer. If you want low end extension then go with the 13W7 sealed or tuned low. The two Kicker L7s will definitly have more output assuming that you have enough power for them. I see that currently you are running Audiobahn which means you have a lot to learn. To you Cadillac, the JL amps are not more expensive than others because they run 1000 rms at different impedences. This is just a difference in the type of power supply. Which, as a car audio enthusiast and a competitor, I find quite annoying. It's expensive because JL is the largest car audio manuf. in the world and they pay there employees and marketing executives a lot of money. You have to charge a lot to pay a lot. Eclipsed, let me know what your budget is, what vehicle you have, what kind of music you listen to, and what you expect out of your system. I promise I won't point you in the wrong direction.

well if you went all one.. I personally would go JL. Though getting a kicker or JL headunit may be a challenge.

JL and Kicker don't make headunits.

Ok...dude you are coming off as one cocky jackass...straight up.

In the proper enclosure each woofer can perform excellenty...if you want low extension than build an enclosure that'll hit nice and low.

True. Neither JL or Kicker are know for making bad products but comparing a W7 to an L7 is like apples to potatoes. The W7 is an SQ woofer that is design to perform the best for it's application in sealed enclosures. The L7, while not the best SPL woofer is designed for just that, SPL.

both are really good brands.that will be a tough choice.i'd love to be able to get a JL 500/1 and 450/4 but they are pricey.

plus i cant see getting rid of my M's
