I have two 10 inch subs and when i have a song with heavy bass there is something rattling in my car, i got to the point today were i finally i had to find what it was. i found that it was coming from the back seat seat belt adjustment. it doesnt rattle when i apply pressure to it so i was wondering if there was anything i could do to fix this or someway to apply pressure to it. in case you dont know what im talking about i have a picture of it below.

ever heard of dynamat? just put some on the back of the thing and make sure to cover all the plastic to plastic parts. Easy peasy!

Great idea, I also go one step further. I use blocks of foam, that I place between plastic panels and metal. Vibration is still possible, but now there is a cushioning thing between them. It almost acts as a shock absorber.

isn't dynamat expensive? but then again i probably dont need that much. how would i go about doing that? does it pop out somehow?

if all you need is alittle then buy the speaker kit.its only like 10$.cut what you need.chances are that when you do that one you might hear some more.so if you can buy the door kit.

100% silicone is another alternitive, the clear stuff, dont take much...........and dries in about a day, and lasts a LONG time.....

What about the water and ice shield stuff that was mentioned? Is that a good alternative?

Yeah but you can only buy it in mass amounts...might as well do your whole car if you do buy it

    No doubt, aznboi.
I went and looked at it after pricing a door kit of Dynamat. Now, don't get me wrong, but 100 bucks for 2 doors worth of stuff seemed like a lot. Having never used it, I can't say if it's a worthwhile investment or not. If it is, I will bite the bullet. On the other hand, if I can do 3 cars for less than what that kit cost by buying a roll of ice and water shield from Lowes, the math seems clear.

I am not sure how to search for it, Viking. But it was mentioned in a thread a while back that Lowes Ice and Water shield acted as a good damper.

another cheap option is automotive undercoating, you can usually find it in your auto parts store for around 8 bucks a can. Just spray it on the back side of the plastic panels and you can use it on the metal panels as well. Its quite thick and will stop all the ratteling.

I'm sure it will help but to stop ALL THE RATTLES?? Highly doubt it

Sorry fstr, Gotta side with azn on this.....undercoating DOES NOT have the termal or physical mass to elimintate, nor significantly reduce the effests of sub harmonic, nor even audible harmonics that are within thie lower registers of the human ear.....say from 20Hz - 100Hz..... cant be done with a spray on coating, tried it and dont that.......dont work...period....

But I DO know where you ar comng from.....acoustis is a hard thing to judge and run if you dont know the basics...(not being insulting to you fstr)

Hell, a beer might make the differene in nest years show car.....I need one of those too.......

    Viking means "thermal" not "termal
