I'm planning on putting in a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP HU with RMS Power Output: 22 Watts and running it to a Pioneer GM-6200F amp which has 4 channels, RMS Power Range : 60-120 Watts, and a max output of 600 watts. I was going to have that power Pioneer TS-A4670R 3-way front speakers with RMS Power Range: 2-20 Watts, and Peak Power Handling: 120 Watts, and Pioneer TS-A531P 3-way rear speakers with RMS Power Range: 35 Watts, and Peak Power Handling: 180 Watts. I was then going to put in a JVC CS-BB2 powered subwoofer. I have a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top with almost no space and i was gonna squeeze the amp and sub into my security trunk. I need all the space I can get so I'm not gonna put real subs in. I'm not sure if all the power ratings match up or if I'm wasting power from the amp on speakers that can't use it all. Any comments would be appreciated.
That amp will run all your speakers fine. Just dont "crank it till your ears bleed" that is quite a bit of power for them! As long as you respect the volume control, and ideally cross over the speakers so they dont play the low stuff, you whould be fine.
Thanks. I haven't bought any of that stuff yet so I was wondering if it would be worth it to get speakers that could handle more power? Seems kinda dumb to waste the extra power.
How much would I have to spend to get speakers that would take advantage of the all power from the amp? Any recommendation?
check this out http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_stealthbox_detail.php?fit_id=1411 will that fit your year model?will save the trunk space.
ok so you have a 4x6 in the front and a 5 1/4 in the back? and you want speakers with rms 60-120 watts. Ok let me take a look. Ok buddy did some looking around and found 2 brands so far that I think would work for ya. Without breaking your bank. The budget way : Phoenix Gold http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13007 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13003 Or.. if you want to spend a few more bucks: Infinity Kappa http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15371 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15350 You are looking at about 150 bucks or 210 bucks for the whole car. Depending on what you go with. I'm sure they are plenty more companies out there but those are the 2 that I found that I know are going to be pretty good speakers and dont cost an arm and a leg. Then again.. if you REALLY wanted cheap stuff... lol.. here: Boss Audio http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15897 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15895 A whole 60 bucks for that set.. though who knows about how good they will sound. I'm sure not as good as the above buuuut when you are on a budget.. sometimes there is little choice.
