    Hey all!

I am looking to put 2 10" Kicker Comp VR's in my Jeep TJ and I am wondering what sorta of power i should be looking at. The sales guy at a local store said The Kicker ZX400.1 running at 2ohms would be enough. The subs are going in a seeled box about .8ft3 per sub.

    Let me know your thoughts,

    Thanks

the 400.1 should be just fine.200 per sub is plenty.

    So my ignorance but,

The stats on these subs are 600 Watts peak and 300 rms.

So if I have a 400 watt amp going to two subs at 1200watts peak and 600rms wouldn't this be under powered? On the other hand I don't want to be over powered either and blow them up:eek:

My next question is how do you wire a mono amp to two sub?

    Thanks

You would wire both subs to the amp...Also if you could find an old school orion hcca 225 than it would do nicely with those if you have the dual 4 ohm version and wire the amp up at 1 ohm mono and that would put out 400 watts

Well by ur answer on the wiring question maybe I should have re worded that a bit.

Do most Mono amps have 4 lead terminals?

    What about my power question?

    Cheers

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't .8 cu ft remarkably small for a somewhat effecient sub in a sealed application?

I like the little sl8's in such small applications.. very impressive..

I got this from the Kicker site.

Recommended Sealed Enclosures - Moderate Efficiency
Model Compact (Minimum Enclosure Volume) SQ (Maximum Enclosure Volume)

    CVR10

    Min. .8 ft 3 Power Handling = 300W RMS
    Max 3.0 ft 3 Power Handling = 300W RMS

As I am putting these subs in a 06 Jeep TJ I require a sub that need a small enclosure. I was origanaly looking at the JL 10W3's that require .625ft3, but I am trying to keep the costs down. If there is a different sub I should be looking at let me know.

The 400.1 and CVR 10s will rock pretty good!!
If you can built the box with the subs firing down.
The subs need to be about 3" from the floor.

KICKER makes their products for Lower power!! Ive been selling Kicker for years and you DO NOT WANT TO PUT TOO MUCH POWER TO THE COMPS, you will FRY em!!! a 400.1 is gonna be okay, but id recommend the 600.1.. you get the best of both worlds, exact RMS power, and they will not be abused by power! ive had so many exchanges on the Comp VRs, and myself, i have blown some too ..lol

    So....

In our opinion what is the best sealed box size for these?

From a powere point I am stuck with the 400,1. It works really well, but I have nothing to compare it too.
